DRAGON RIDER Trailer (2021)When the go on they ,have to fly at night where no human sole can see them. Thegolden dragn is still on their way and he even gets into the place where all the dragons are.
Lung and ben get into the secret cave and see many little hills, and between that,a beautiful Dragonlady.
I belife that Lung loves maja! Maja tells them that all the other dragons got to stone because they did not fly in the moonlight anymore because they were scared that the golden dragon will get them!
So, cool. The characters are often immature and bicker in a way that young kids love, though adults may find it annoying. The story is perfect for ages As an adult I was a bit bored.
Brendan Fraser is a remarkable narrator; he does a whole range of completely different voices amazingly. He includes the whole range of sounds giggling, sneezing, chewing, etc.
I read this ages ago and loved it, and then recently listened to it with my kids. The narration is by Brendan Fraser and is awesome!
I don't know if Cornelia Funke picked him to be Inkheart before or after he had narrated this book, but I can see why she did.
He's amazing. Oh yeah, the story is good too. Great for kids in the range, whereas the Inkheart books are really for a slightly older crowd.
This book is hysterical! If you are going to read it, get it on CD narrated by Brenden Fraser I think that's how you spell his name.
He does all the noises and sound effects and I guarentee you will have at least a few good laughs. If you don't This was so fun to reread.
I think maybe I only reread this book when I first read it like I read it back to back the first time but I didn't really read it since then. It was so wonderful to revisit this world as an adult, especially now when we live in a time where I've been going through some personal stuff with regards to some other childhood faves.
It was so nice to revisit this world and I was actually surprised by how much of this story I remembered and how much I forgot so even though This was so fun to reread.
It was so nice to revisit this world and I was actually surprised by how much of this story I remembered and how much I forgot so even though I knew how it was going to end at the same time I had no idea how we were doing to get there so it was so interesting to read this.
Original review: This was one of my favorite books growing up - I read it at a very difficult time in my life and its one of those books that made everything better by making me forget about everything.
It has dragons and talking animals and is just awesome. I remember it being an all round excellent book - I hope to re-read it soon and might update my rating after that re-read This is always such a lovely read - and Anthea Bell's translations are sublime.
Not a bad young adult fantasy, a little dull at times but overall still a really good story full of wit and imagination.
I'd say it's 3 stars now that I reread it as an adult - I'm leaving the 4 stars on behalf of child-Cenda, though. It is undoubtedly charming but perhaps one that was better left in childhood.
Dragon Rider is a good children fantasy book, especially for a bedtime story. We gets to see Firedrake, a silver dragon, going on an impossible journey to find a safe haven for Dragons called ' Rim of Heaven', - a place which nobody is sure even exists.
But Firedrake is brave enough to take that impossible task and cross half the world to search for this place.
Rest is about his journey of reaching there with a brownie and human boy as a companion. They find many friends and enemies i 3.
They find many friends and enemies in between their journey, it was nice to experience. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I have read it in my childhood, still it was a good one time read for me!
Dragon Rider was an out of this world read. Despite the fact that it was meant for a younger crowd, I enjoyed every minute. This paged story takes you on a classical adventure in which contain mythical creatures such as Dragons, dwarves, elves, and sea-serpents, and many more.
Cornelia Funke puts the reader into the story and tells it on the back of a dragon named Firedrake with passengers named Ben, and Sorrel, and Twigleg.
These heroes must help Firedrake find a new place for him and the r Dragon Rider was an out of this world read. These heroes must help Firedrake find a new place for him and the rest of the dragons in the valley before the humans destroy the valley, in which they call home.
However, the group must travel a long journey, and overcome many obstacles in order to reach ''The Rim of Heaven'', home of the Dragons.
The antagonist, Nettlebrand, known as the golden one, is the only thing that stands in their way of achieving their goal. This story reminds me of a childhood movie called, '' The Never ending Story'', and is just a good old fashioned story-telling, that brings together a cast of elves, brownies,a thousand eyed djinn, a professor, and a basilisk, and many more.
Funke's message to the reader is that good always overpowers evil. I would recommend this book not only to kids but anyone who wants to enjoy an easy-flowing story.
I actually really liked Twigleg. Sorrel was funny. Cheesecake was a typical main character, but still good. Ben was normal. All in all, I loved this book.
Human beings, fabulous creatures, myth and fairy tale, reality, legends coming truethis is what you get when you take a dragon in search of a new, yet ancient, home and boy who never had home or family, pair them up with a forest brownie and send then in search of the Rim of Heaven.
I have to say, for all the fantasy I've read, I ran across some creatures here that I didn't recall having heard of. And each facbulous creature is fascinating in its own right, each with their own quirks and stori Human beings, fabulous creatures, myth and fairy tale, reality, legends coming truethis is what you get when you take a dragon in search of a new, yet ancient, home and boy who never had home or family, pair them up with a forest brownie and send then in search of the Rim of Heaven.
And each facbulous creature is fascinating in its own right, each with their own quirks and stories. The basilisk very unlike Harry Potter's , mountain dwarves, a homunculus Especially since they attract one another, and the quest for the Rim of Heaven requires a journey half way around the world.
With a map bought from a rat, they set out from a city, meeting a Professor who knows more about fabulous creatures than any of them along the way.
Obtacles are not in short measure, including finding they're being spied on, nearly crashing in the ocean when an eclipse blocks out the moon, landing on a sea serpent and getting a ride, and being chased by the most fearsome and deadly fabulous creature of all.
Just when all hope is seeming lost, the travling trio happen upon none other than the niece of the rat who made their map.
And with her help, they find their way. From there on out it's all suspense, excitement, and hope. The only aspect of this book I didn't like is that it's clunky to hold, but it wasn't enough to deter me from sticking with the story, which was definitely worth it.
If you decide to give it a shot and like it, or have read it and like it, give Inkheart a try, if you haven't. Also a Cornelia Funke tale worth the reading.

At one point they attract the attention of Nettlebrand, the golden one a dragon-look-alike made by an alchemist to hunt and kill real dragons.
Nettlebrand's spies keep him apprised of Fireheart's movements. But in their final confrontation, one of these spies defects and is instrumental in Nettlebrand's defeat.
They eventually find the Rim of Heaven and everything is resolved according to a long ago prophecy. There's some waffling over whether Fireheart or Ben is the most important character before Funke goes with the human boy the proverbial dragon rider , and it's just really disappointing to see the dragons get short shrift.
Dragons should be awesome and they just fail to impress in this story. I had to pay to replace it. What a tale of fun and adventure! I enjoyed the characters.
I enjoyed the story mostly--once in a rare while I was wondering "is this part necessary? I find Funke's creations to be quite interesting.
What an imagination she has. But I think what I enjoyed most was the narration. I was intrigued to hear how Brenden Fraser would narrate a book.
Sometimes celebrities aren't the greatest choices for narrators. But he was awesome!! I should have remembered from all of the films I've seen him in th What a tale of fun and adventure!
I should have remembered from all of the films I've seen him in that he is an actor who gives his all. And I'm so glad he did in this book.
It was such a fun, hilarious, enjoyable, and exciting listen. There were times I couldn't believe he had just done what he did in the narration.
And even if occasionally it shocked me, impressed me, or even slightly annoyed me, I still loved it.
I loved the voices and accents he did. His sound effects made me smile. He had so much energy and enthusiasm as he performed the book.
I'm sure he is at the least half the reason why I enjoyed this book. I'm not sure how I would have done with a print copy. Occasional parts might have dragged for me.
But in no way do they drag with this narrator. Classification - we have this in children's. I'd say it works in YA, too. First of all, this is a children book, and I mean it, so when reading it, you can't let the adult you judge it.
I was about to give it 3 stars but this man, added the forth! This is the story of firedrake, a dragon who decides to go on a quest, finding the Rim of heaven, a mythical place, where he and his clan can live without humans threatning them.
