The animation is beautiful, the voice acting is solid, the plot is very simple but engaging, and the humor is over-the-top funny thanks to Pinkie Pie.
All the musical songs are equally fantastic my favorite is We Got This Together. If you're a MLP fan or looking for a good traditional animation, then this is the movie I have to recommend.

My daughter loves it. Watches it all the time and can sing all the songs back to me. Even my son enjoyed the movie.
Me,I am slowing sinking into madness listing to my daughter sing the songs over and over and over again. But it is better than listening to Elsa sing "Let it Go" a billion times.
But if your kids like the Pony's they will love it. Friendship really is magic, and this sweet little movie is magical.
I love this movie, and I love these cartoons, because I love the message in them. The idea that kindness, generosity, laughter, loyalty, and honesty creates magic between friends shouldn't be a foreign concept, but cynicism is strong in people.
We tend to believe the worst in people, and so we confirm it by showing them little in the way of those qualities we most desire for ourselves.
This movie shows what can happen when we believe in ourselves and in our friends, when we step up and accept that friendship is a two way street, and that everyone is worthy of love and redemption.
As for the film itself, the voice acting is spot on, the characters are the ones many of us have loved since we started watching the cartoon years ago, and the budget is clearly bigger, as the animation is gorgeous.
I wasn't much for Capper voiced by Taye Diggs , but he was competently played. The villain, the much vaunted Storm King, was probably the weakest element, but I didn't care about the villain, what I ultimately cared about was the sweet little ponies I've come to love getting together on an adventure, and having a great time, which they did, and I did as well.
I highly recommend the film, and the series. It's worth every penny, and then some. That said, just remember, if you ever think you're friendless and alone, you're wrong.
You have more friends than you know. The names and colors of the characters are the only thing similar to the show. The art style shortened their noses, rounded their faces, and shrunk the ears.
They looked like My Little Piggies. I don't mind the ways that they tried to show more emotions through facial details, but they portrayed charactures of each of the pony's personalities.
It was overly dramatic, had minimal plot other than "hero's journey", and the plot that was there was so shallow that I feel brain damaged from diving into it so enthusiastically.
It was a massive disappointment for me, who really likes the series. My kids 2 and 5 thought that the songs were fun. The 5 year old was a bit scared at times of the dark and scary monsters, but not badly enough to run off.
The 2 year old liked how goofy everyone was acting. It's a family friendly movie if you have no expectations going in, and don't mind the simple writing.
