This movie definitely did not disappoint. Bollywood with unusual, thought-provoking depth. I love Bollywood, but get tired of the endless romantic drivel, and the plots and dialogue which are lightweight.
This movie was so refreshing! It also had first-rate actors and acting and some beautiful, well-staged dancing scenes.
If you're a thinking person and like Bollywood, this is a great movie for you! Yes, this has a lot of typical Bollywood elements of a Romantic musical movie but with a deep message must likely misunderstood for those who have really little knowledge of Indian society.
For us not Indian this can be a simple romantic comedy but I think it really isn't. I do recommend to watch this movie, lovely music.

Of all the beautiful music of India and not so long ago, tremendous ballads and songs i can think of so many more recent movies where I loved the score; but this was unlistenable, scratchy, high pitched male voices, scratch record sound like fingernails on a blackboard, rap or hip hop not sounding indian at all except for the language of it.
I saw the last new movie had this kind of music in disco and part of soundtrack also. Maybe there was a ballad or two in this film not like that, the rest was so horrible that's all the impression that was left here; the disco scene, the end titles scene, left me feeling: why?
Just because it comes from the West doesn't mean it's the best. But I guess it caught on with the youth there Both leads are excellent and work well off each other-- the dialogues are fast, funny, and smart.
The supporting cast was great, too-- a lot to root for. The film also seemed to reserve drama and related filmi schmaltz for the truly dramatic moments, which was nice.
I appreciated its feminist message. This film is thinking in the present, working hard to change minds. Obviously nothing is perfect, especially when a film like this is catering to a mainstream, but this narrative seemed more successful than other feminist-adjacent films I've seen American and Indian both.
